Public Classes: Our preliminary public class schedule will be listed here next week. Additional classes will be added weekly. We are always open to Continuing Education, Community Colleges, Park & Rec. Departments, Yacht Clubs and Marinas to have us as instructors for their programming.
All former students of any Boat Safe Connecticut class are welcome to audit any future class at no charge.
Boat Safe Connecticut educators pride themselves with the instruction provided at the appropriate level to each student in the classroom. In the rare occurrence a student fails the course, we refund 100% of your class fee, and we allow you to attend as many future classes as you choose at no additional charge. Our instructors work with you to determine in what areas you require additional assistance and will provide educational support to any student that has "special needs or considerations" brought to our attention.
$89 per student
All Boat Safe Connecticut public classes are $89.00 per student, are eight hours in length, and are held throughout Connecticut at various Park and Rec Departments, Yacht Clubs and Marinas, Sporting Goods and Boating stores, Town Halls, Fire Departments and Senior Centers. Late registration/walk-ins (with space available) are welcome!
Private classes can be held within days of initial contact - Call now & book yours for off season costs & most convenience for you. Off season costs: $299.00 for up to 3 students, with $89.00 for each additional student - no student limit. Private classes are scheduled for eight hours, held in a day or evening format, and conducted over one or more days. After passing, students will be able to immediately purchase and print their license from the CT D.E.E.P. website.

This option is for individuals either with or without prior certification who are not interested in obtaining a "Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation" but want to learn the basics of boating to be a guest of others, or wish to refresh their knowledge of boating safety and operation. In addition, use this option to add the "jet-ski" operator certification to your current "Safe Boating Certificate."
$100/hour - 2.5 hour minimum- up to 5 students.
Confidence operating your own boat - launching, docking, navigating, more! Boat Safe Connecticut is certified by the National Safe Boating Council for its 'Open Water Boat Control' & 'Close Quarters Boat Control' hands-on training performed under the direct supervision of a NSBC instructor and U.S.C.G. Licensed Captain. We provide you with laminated skill sheets for practice after your training.
We offer vessel transport by USCG Captains to other US locations & new vessel on-water deliveries.

The only additional expense a student will incur to obtain their C.P.W.O. (Boating License) is a one-time processing fee paid directly to the State of Connecticut D.E.E.P. via debit or credit card (MasterCard or Visa logo) in the amount of $50.00. Once purchased, you can go back to the D.E.E.P. website any time in the future to download and print additional copies of your C.P.W.O. at no additional cost.
